...are the best time of the day. I'm usually glad when autumn rolls round, for lots of reasons, the crowds thin, its easier to be the first one in the water, much easier to be up and about for "that" moment when the light is just right...and that moment seems to last a little longer. The summer bleaches the colour of out things, which has its own beauty, but one I never seem to capture all that well.
Maybe its becuase im from the northern hemisphere, but i capture darkness better than light...i like cold waves/water/wetsuits, feels more real to me.
Moments...like this
(a summer shot, so it goes, but makes me look forward to autumn.)

lucky
a trip down the coast paid off, with more time spent in uncrowded water than out of it - a hot night in the back of the van, and a dawn swim at separation creek, before a short hike to an uncrowded bank - a K each way of empty water and empty beach, no footprints.
here are some pictures...
as is, no photoshop, no pst process whatsoever - just beautiful morning light
the source of the colour in the picture above
i could tell you where it is, but then i'd have to kill you - suffice to say, on one of the great weekends, this spot was empty, and firing - lets call it lyceum
the pot at the end of.

its been quite the run of good swell
ive been surfing lots, finding a few less crowded places...nowhere special, but special nonetheless...the comp is over, the tourists are heading back up the freeway. Soon the town will quieten down.
ive taken lots of photos, got a few addresses and driven about today and dropped of CD's of images for people.
Its making me happy.
here is Sunday morning...
