Ive shaped a new stick for my best buddy from england who should be arriving on these shores in feburary for a few weeks. I surfed it at poss yesterday and it goes good.

couldnt muster the energy or enthusiasm to slide this morning, so i hung around poss and shot a few.... ive seen this guy before, and love his flow. my amateurish snaps don't do it justice.

a drive down the coast yielded some nice light and some fun waves when everywhere was blown.

No secrets here.

morning texture

there was too many in the water already at dawn this morning, a wintery posso's dawn.
I'm favoring the "other place" . that great little righthander that is working right now.
Still, posso's remains my morning ritual.

inside out

This morning, on Ron's advice, andymac and my good self paddled out to an empty outside posso's - having always favored the inside side of things, it took a little to get in place, too wide, to deep, then i found it... whilst i didnt surf my best i sure enjoyed myself. Keith joined us, Lochie too, and we all shared a few great waves, the crowd grew by four after an hour or so - long paddle back to insides, which by then had thinned in crowd to 4 or 5, and we carried on the good work.
I surfed today for nearly 4 hours

slow to heal, but not that slow

the day started beautifully with a few peelers at semi crowded poss. But it was fun - its was out of this world to be back in the brine.

The board is back, the knee held up, just...and took the small ones, stood tall, and trimmed. and thats is.

The afternoon saw a few waves had at backwash alley, Grove at high tide. Still, fun.

After yesterdays great waves, this morning was met with anticpation.
As is the way with such things, the morning greeted me with a different gift.
This.

 so the wait for the tide begins, and i cross my fingers and hope that is northerly all day.
And the swell sticks around for another fun filled day of friends and waves.

light winds but a lazy start to the work day have ruined my chances of beginning the day with a few waves, - note to self - must make more effort on Monday mornings.
